Alebrije!  Alebrije!

Description:

In this lesson we learned about the tale of the Mexican folk art Alebrijes.  Once we understood what they were, we created our own alebrije-type monsters to be put into a collaborative book for others to create their own unique monsters!
Process:

First, we filled out an ideation worksheet that had markings every 1-inch horizontally in 3 separate boxes.  This was to be filled out individually in each box to have a unique kind of head, body, and legs.

Then we took the same shape styrofoam plate cuts and transfered our images to each corresponding feature using ballpoint pens.

Then we used a printmaking process of ink to transfer our images to a clean piece of paper.

Once those were dried, we put another layer of ink on to bring the figure out from the background.
